Does payment guarantee acceptance?

No. Payment covers the selected evaluation or service work. A journal can receive a non-inclusion result or a request for further preparation.

Which package should a new journal select?

Basic Journal Evaluation is usually the responsible starting point. It identifies readiness gaps without assuming the journal is eligible for listing.

Can a journal without an ISSN apply?

It may request basic readiness guidance, but missing identifiers can limit listing eligibility and must be explained accurately.

What evidence should be prepared?

Direct links for publisher identity, editorial board, peer review, ethics, fees, rights, complaints, corrections, archives and metadata sources.

Payment and review

How is payment matched?

Use the same official journal or publisher title and email in the form and Stripe checkout. Keep the Stripe receipt reference.

When does review begin?

After both the application and matching payment are received. Incomplete information may pause the review while clarification is requested.

Why is an evaluation fee charged if acceptance is not guaranteed?

Review work is performed regardless of the decision. Reviewers must inspect evidence, compare public information and document the outcome.

Records and metadata

Does GAI create an impact factor?

No. GAI does not sell or confer an impact factor, citation ranking or academic accreditation.

Does a GAI listing mean Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed or DOAJ inclusion?

No. Those services maintain independent records and criteria. Verify their claims directly with them.

How are journal records updated?

Publishers should report changes to title, URL, ownership, ISSN, editor, policies or publishing status. Updates may require verification.

How many article records are included?

The published Professional Article-Level Indexing scope includes up to 100 article metadata records during the annual term for eligible journals with usable sources.

Timing and communication

How long does review take?

Basic review is commonly 3–7 business days; Standard 5–10; article-level 7–14; and publisher work 10–21. Complex or incomplete applications can take longer.
