GAI Article Metadata Records

Understand and explore article-level metadata records in the Global Academic Index framework.

Titles • contributors • identifiers • source links

Fields that make an article record useful

Bibliographic identity

Article title, journal title, volume, issue, pages or article number, language and publication date.

Contributors

Author names, sequence, affiliations and supplied researcher identifiers where available.

Discovery information

Abstract, keywords, article type and subject context when provided by the publisher.

Persistent access

DOI, licence information, canonical article URL and the original source record.

Where metadata may come from

Eligible article-level work may use DOI/Crossref deposits, OAI-PMH, RSS, XML, CSV, sitemaps or structured article pages. A source is useful only when its records are accurate, current and consistently maintained.

  • Names should not be merged or reordered accidentally.
  • Dates should agree across the landing page, PDF and deposit.
  • DOIs should resolve to stable article pages.
  • Corrections and retractions should update related metadata.
  • Licence and source URLs should be explicit.

What an article record does not claim

Presence in GAI does not certify the validity of findings, replace peer review, create citations, establish an impact factor or imply inclusion in an unrelated database.

Readers should consult the official article, journal policies and any correction or retraction notices. Publishers remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of supplied metadata.

Give published articles cleaner, more consistent records.
